Description

Posting Setup

Posting type

The functionality of this field is not currently warranted. It shouldbe set to TB in all cases.

  • As with any field that is not actively used, testing should be done if intending to change the current value.

Use account reference

The functionality of this flag is not currently warranted. It should be left unchecked (N).

  • As with any flag that is not actively used, testing should be done if intending to change the current value.

It was originally intended to enable an Account reference field in Teller, Inquiry and Phone Operator whereby a user could access an account by entering a cross-reference number instead of an account number. This required the file XREFBS file be kept in synch with MASTER. This functionality is no longer supported.

Print loan interest and principal on receipts

The functionality of this flag is not currently warranted. It is typically checked (Y).

  • As with any flag that is not actively used, testing should be done if intending to change the current value.

Use ‘CHECK’ instead of ‘DRAFT’ for transaction description

This flag controls the wording used on various inquiry screens and other tools throughout CU*BASE.

You can specify the wording for transaction descriptions via the Member SD/Checking Config feature.

Print remitter on checks

This flag controls whether or not the Remitter name is printed on credit union checks. This appears as “Memo: XXXX” just above the check amount.

Use literal dollar amount for checks

This flag controls the way that the amount appears on printed checks and money orders. If checked (Y), a check amount of $1.00 will read “ONE & 00/100.” If left unchecked (N), that same check would read “1 DOLLARS AND 00 CENTS.”

Print vertically on receipts

This flag activates vertical receipt functionality for ALL credit union receipt printers, for receipts generated through all programs that can produce receipts. WARNING: Before changing this setting, coordinate with the Imaging Solutions team. Changes to ProDOC controls and receipt devices must be done at the same time. Visit the store for more details.

TIP: Activating this flag also changes what receipt printing options are available in Workstation Configuration.

Use Native Receipts

Check this to activate the Native Receipt feature.

Using an ATM Network

This field is no longer used and is typically set to R = Transmission.

Send balance file

Type of ATM network

This field is no longer used and is typically set to XX.

  • As with any field that is not actively used, testing should be done if intending to change the current value.

Online ATM network

This field is no longer used and is typically set to SC.

  • As with any field that is not actively used, testing should be done if intending to change the current value.

ACH Setup

Using ACH posting

This controls whether normal ACH processing is done for the credit union. This flag should always be checked (Y).

Communication format

This field is no longer used and is typically set to R = Transmission.

Type of ACH setup

This controls which programs are used for daily ACH processing. Enter XX for the standard programs or the two-character credit union ID if this credit union has custom ACH programs.

Bypass transaction edit

This flag controls how the system will handle incoming ACH items when the transaction code on the record does not match the master ACH distribution record in your files.

If checked (Yes), when CU*BASE sees an incoming Tran Code for either a share or checking deposit, and the distribution master record has an "SD" on the sequence 99 distribution, the transaction will be processed without a Tran Code mismatch error or any modifications to the incoming record. This is the recommended setting.

If left unchecked, the system would either try to create a new record to match the incoming Tran Code (possibly resulting in a duplicate record), or, if there is not sufficient data to create a new record, the item would kick out as an exception.

Negative balance on post

This setting controls whether incoming ACH debits can post even if they would result in a negative balance on a member’s account. It is recommended that the flag be checked (N), so that this will follow the member’s configuration and post NSF and non-return fees as designated. This will also incur reversal transactions for NSF items and will post NSF items to the ACH Exception file. A setting of “Y” will automatically post any transaction regardless of balance. This setting is virtually untested and could results in unexpected results.

Multiple distribution

If checked (Y), and duplicate ACH records are presented within the same company for the same effective date (in this case duplicate means same Company ID, same Depositor ID), the distributions related to that record happen on both records. If it is left unchecked (N), then the distribution only happens on the first record.
