Budget Status Controls

Access this screen by selecting Tool #482: Lock/Unlock G/Ls for Budgeting using the Budget Control button on the initial Work with CU Budget screen.

This screen is used to set up and maintain budget controls that control who can adjust figures on your CU*BASE budget, and when they can be maintained.

For complete details about what Budget Controls are and how they should be used, refer to the Budgeting with CU*BASE booklet.

To create a record for the coming budget year so that you can start the budget process, use Add.

OR

To lock or unlock a G/L type so it can be maintained, select an existing budget year and use Change budget status for year.

OR

To delete a budget control record (which effectively locks it from any maintenance), select an existing budget year and use Delete year (a confirmation message will appear). This does not affect the budget itself but you will need to add the control record back if you ever wish to maintain that budget in the future.

  • BE CAREFUL: To prevent budget records from being created too far in advance, the system will only allow you create a record for the coming year, assuming prior year records already exist. If you accidentally delete a record in the middle of the list, you’ll have to delete all subsequent years first, then recreate them all again, one year at a time in chronological order.
