There are a number of dashboards and reports that use new account and new member Reason Codes.  Why don’t the ones that summarize membership reason codes always match each other exactly?

Screen Overview

This screen is used to print a report showing all memberships that were opened during the specified month. You can print a detail report showing specific accounts opened, or just the summary report totaling the number of memberships opened by branch and reason code. NOTE: This report pulls the open reason code from the New Account Code field (NEWACT) in the membership information table (MASTER).  Remember that there is also a separate reason code on the -000 account suffix, stored in the Open Reason Code field (RSNCDEOPN) in the MEMBER1 account table.

  • NOTE: When you request the Detail report, the summary report will also print at the same time. But when you choose Summary, only that report will print.

Complete all options as described below and press Enter to generate the report (see the sample below).

IMPORTANT: An account will be marked with an asterisk (*) when the account number is being reused.

Note: If an Open Date has been altered to a different month, the membership will not show on the report, as the report uses EOM snapshot data to compile the report. However, the New Membership Dashboard uses current data at the time, and will show a more complete picture of all accounts.

Use these reports:

  • To report membership growth to the Board of Directors

  • To establish and monitor goals for new member penetration by branch

Practical Uses of this Report

Monitor the New Membership Report daily or monthly to see a list of new memberships as well as the teller ID and branch where the new membership was opened. This report is also generated on a daily basis and can be found in CU*Spy under the user data name List New Members Report (LNWMB). Then use this data to create informational reports to share with your credit union leadership.

How Do I Save/Retrieve My Report Settings?

For more details on setting up this feature, refer to the Automating Reports and Queries booklet, available on the CU*BASE Reference page.

This report can be used with the “Report Scheduler,” a time-saving automation feature that allows you to select and save the filters you use to run several commonly used reports and then set these reports to be run automatically by our operations staff on the first of the month.  Or you can save the settings and run them manually by yourself at any time.

To save your report settings, first select your filters, including printer (can be a physical printer or the HOLDxx or MONTHxx OUTQs).  Then select Save Settings (F24).  On the next screen name your settings (we recommend adding your name!), and designate whether you wish to run this manually or if you wish for operations to run the report.  At a later time, use Retrieve Settings (F23) to populate the screen with the settings you have saved.  You can also edit your settings using Retrieve Settings (F23). All saved settings can be viewed on the Report Automation: Standard Reports screen.

Field Descriptions

Field Name

Description

Month/year to process

Enter the month and year for which data should be shown.  Normally three previous months are available.  To run a report using month-end data prior to the months held online, contact a Client Services Representative.  (There is a charge if this service is requested.)

Year

Use this to print accounts that were opened during a specific year. This usually matches the year in the Month/year to process field, but might not if you are, for example, printing in January for the previous calendar year.

Month

This optional field lets you include only accounts opened within a specific month. This will default to the current month. Leave the field blank to include all accounts opened during the entire year, or enter the two-digit month you wish to include on the report.

Report style

Choose one of the following:

Detail (D) - To print both the detailed report showing individual accounts that were opened, as well as the summary report.

Summary (S) - To print only the summary report showing the total number of memberships opened by branch and by reason code.

Export report to file

Check the “Export detail to file” go to the screen where you can choose to create a file that lets you use Member Connect to communicate instantly with these members via email and online banking messages, set up a marketing outreach via mailing labels and selective statement inserts, and track the responses via a telemarketing Tracker. This file will contain account base only. Or choose to export more data to use with CU*BASE Report Builder.
