Hierarchy for Fee Waivers

Following is a listing of the order in which fee waivers are applied to waive fees. All fees follow this order with a few exceptions which are explained below this listing.

Description

Reason for Waiver

ANR Fee Cap

Member has already reached the maximum (business day) amount of ANR fees.

Marketing Clubs

Member is a member of a marketing club, which waives the fee.

Tiered Services

Member has a certain level of Tiered Service, which waives the fee.

Minimum Age

Member’s age is at or below a certain age

Maximum Age

Member’s age is at or above a certain age

e-Statements

Member is enrolled in e-Statements

Aggregate Balances

Loans

Aggregate current balances of member’s MEMBER5 and MEMBER6 accounts are equal to or greater than a certain amount (includes all loans and open-credit accounts

Savings

Aggregate current balances of member’s MEMBER1 accounts are equal to or greater than a certain amount (including tax escrow and IRA accounts)

Savings Average

Average amount of the current balance of member’s MEMBER1 accounts is equal to or greater than a certain dollar amount

Combined Aggregate

Aggregate current balance of all (combined amount) of member’s accounts is equal to or greater than a certain dollar amount

Account Relationship

(Used for Minimum Balance service charge only). The member has a specific type of account that waives a fee.

Free item

Credit unions offers a number of free items on certain items, such as a number of checks cashed for free.

Plastic

Members have certain types of OTB accounts (OTB credit cards, OTB loans, OTB savings, ATM or debit cards)

 

  • NOTE: One exception is the Minimum Balance (MBSC) which handles waivers in the following manner: Plastic, Balances, e-Statements, and then age requirements

  • NOTE: If the account is an organizational account (account type MO), the age check is bypassed for the following fees: Deposit item fees, phone transfer fee, check cash fee and charge for bill payment.
