Create Memo Type

These steps explain how to configure new memo type codes to which you'd like to associate a particular Tracker type.

  1. Launch Tool #260 Configure Memo Type Codes for Trackers.

  2. Click Add.

  3. In the Tracker type field, enter the type of Tracker to which you'd like your new memo type to be associated.

  4. In the Memo type field, enter a two-letter abbreviation for your new memo type.

  5. In the Memo type description field, enter a brief description of your new memo type.

  6. Check the box Used for links to external documents if you'd like Trackers with this memo type to link to a particular Web page.

    • When this memo type is used, a green arrow appears to the right of the Tracker entry, and when clicked, a browser window will open, allowing the user to view the web page. For example, this could be used to make a record that you mailed a letter or other personal correspondence. Then this would be used to link to the actual document itself.

  7. Check the box Used for permanent underwriting comments if you'd like this memo type to support permanent underwriting comments.

  8. Check the box Used to monitor loan account daily for specific transaction activity (e.g. promise to pay) if you'd like CU*BASE to monitor for member deposits for this memo type.

    • If this box is checked, you'll need to specify which memo type will be used for kept promises by entering a memo type code in the box labeled Memo type for note when transaction occurs. The recommended memo type code is PP (Promise to Pay).

    • You'll also need to specify which memo type will be used for broken promises by entering a memo type code in the box labeled Memo type for note when transaction does not occur. The recommended memo type code is PP (Promise to Pay).

    • This field only appears on memo types associated with collections (XX) Trackers.

  9. Click the forward arrow.
