Deny Loan Request
These steps explain how to deny a loan request and print the corresponding denial notice to give to the applicant, and co-applicant if applicable.

Launch Tool #2 Work/View Loan Application Status.

Select the member account from the list in the Pending tab on the Work/View Application Status screen.

Click Work w/ Loan Req.

Select the loan request on the Loan Request Maintenance screen.

Click Work w/ Loan Req/Application.

Click Deny Loan.

On the Statement of Credit Denial, Termination, or Change screen, check the box labeled We are unable to make a decision . . . if the denial is due to missing information.

Then fill out the corresponding information, as well as a date by which you'd like to receive the information from the member.

Check the box labeled We are unable to offer credit . . . if the denial is due to another reason, but you can still offer credit to the member.

Fill out the corresponding information, as well as a date by which you'd like to hear back from the member on their decision.

Click the forward arrow.

On the first Statement of Denial, Termination, or Change (Update) screen, if no box was checked on the previous screen, check the box labeled Your application has been denied . . .

Next check the box(es) that correspond to the reason(s) for the denial.

Click the forward arrow.

On the second Statement of Denial, Termination, or Change (Update) screen, if applicable, leave checked the box labeled Our credit decision was based . . . and fill out the corresponding credit bureau information if you used a different credit bureau than the one listed.

If applicable, check the box labeled Decision based on an outside source.

In the Denied by field, enter the employee ID of the staff member who denied the loan.

You may be required to enter the underwriter's ID here or your own, depending on your credit union policy.

Leave the Primary borrower credit rep field as is.

This field will be pre-populated with the credit report number for reports pulled from within the system.

Leave the CU risk level field as is.

This field will also be pre-populated.

In the # copies field, enter the number of copies you'd like to print.

Click the forward arrow to save your entries.

If the loan application includes a co-applicant, you will be directed to the co-applicant screens to fill out the same information you filled out for the primary applicant. After filling out all co-applicant information, click the forward arrow to save your entries.

After filling out all applicant and co-applicant information, click Print Denial Notice.

In the printer settings pop-up, select your printer and click the forward arrow to print the denial notice(s).
