Freeze an Account
These steps explain how to freeze an account for more than one transaction.
-
Notes for handling bankrupt members:
-
While freezing the base share, add a comment noting the bankruptcy type and filing date. Ensure that the comment does not expire by entering all 9’s in the purge date.
-
Be sure to freeze all sub-accounts of bankrupt members.
-
Select the appropriate freeze code based on your credit union’s policies. Freeze Code 3 is generally used since it freezes both deposits and withdrawals from the accounts.
-
For loan accounts only: If the sub-account selected was already frozen due to delinquency monitoring, a separate screen will appear. Follow credit union policies. Learn more.
