Freeze an Account with Comment

These steps explain how to freeze an account and add a comment for other employees to view.

  • The comment will appear in the Member Account Comments and Verify Member pop-ups when an account is accessed via Phone Operator, Inquiry, or Teller Processing.

  • While you're attempting to freeze an account, if you notice that the account is already frozen due to delinquency monitoring, a separate screen will appear. Follow credit union policies. Learn More.

  1. Launch Phone Operator by clicking the phone icon at the top of your CU*BASE home screen.

  2. Enter the account number.

  3. Click the forward arrow.

    • You may need to click the forward arrow again to move past the Member Account Comments pop-up.

  4. Click Add Cmt/Message.

  5. From the Member Account Message Options pop-up, select the option Leave message for other CU employees (Member Account Comments).

  6. Click the forward arrow.

  7. Enter "1" in the Comment type field.

  8. Enter a line number in the Line # field.

    • This must be a line without an existing comment.

  9. Click the forward arrow.

  10. In the Reference account type field, enter the suffix to which the comment corresponds.

  11. Enter the purge date.

    • Comments expire after a year. Enter all 9’s in the purge date if you don’t want the comment to expire.

  12. Enter the comment text.

  13. In the Freeze indicator drop-down menu, select a freeze status.

  14. Click the forward arrow.
