Print Subsidiary Trial Balance

These steps explain how to produce a Subsidiary Trial Balance, which is useful when balancing subsidiaries. This detailed report will provide you detailed information about each Subsidiary.

  • Depending on your timing of payments, be aware of the processing month you need to select. For example, if you are balancing for May but you have added new records or made adjustments in May for the effective date of June, then you will need to pull the process date of June.

  1. Launch Tool #687 Print Subsidiary Trial Balance Detail.

  2. Enter a Corp ID or leave blank to pull all.

  3. Enter the Month/Year to process. The trial balance will be pulled for activity processed during this month.

    • NOTE: The process date for generating a Subsidiary Trial Balance is dependent on the timing of all your monthly activity. If you process your new records, any adjustments, or otherwise in June with an effective date of May, your trial balance Month/Year to process will need to be June. If you process all your new records, any adjustments, or otherwise all in the current month, your Month/Year to process for the report will be the current month. Trial balances don’t take effective dating into account, so you will see only the activity processed up to the last day of the selected month.

  4. Select the Subsidiary type or leave blank to pull all. You can also specify a range of item numbers to pull.

  5. Select to Sort by Primary G/L, Expense G/L, Category, or Branch, and the report will subtotal by those groupings. The report does not subtotal by Item # if you sort by it.

  6. Optionally, use the remaining Select buttons to filter the report results.

  7. Additionally, you may filter the results by subsidiary Purchase date, Policy/contract expiration date, Months remaining, and/or Original term.

  8. You can elect to Exclude items with net book value of zero, to Run report for closed subsidiary items only, and/or to Include subsidiary item comments.

  9. Select the Printer.

  10. Use the forward arrow to produce the report.
