About this tool

This tool allows you to configure retailer groups for use in programs such as credit card cash back rewards and debit card rebates. Much like the merchant category codesRetailer groups consist of companies that your credit union curates into groups for the purpose of allowing reward programs for spending at those retailers.

This setup can take some time and research - a caveat to keep in mind is that the entry of the retailer names will need to match the transaction files that we will be comparing against for the rewards/rebates; remember to be precise in your entry! We recommend using existing tools, such as Where Your Members Shop, to begin creating these groups.

What are these groups used for?

As mentioned above, these groups can be used both in analysis dashboards and in credit card cash back reward programs, s well as debit card rebate programs.

Using this screen

To begin configuring retailer groups for your credit union, use the Add Retailer Group (F6) button, or select to maintain or edit. You can also highlight and select to Delete (a confirmation window will appear, select Delete again to complete the action. Note that groups tied to active member programs cannot be deleted).

Note from the 24.05 Release

Until additional work is completed, retailer groups are in the setup stage only. Groups cannot be used yet for the reward and rebate programs until further announcement is made. We strongly suggest configuring your retailer groups while awaiting further functionality.
