Building a Query A to Z

These steps explain how to create a custom query.

  • The terms file, field, and record may also be referred to as table, column, and row in the context of Queries. For details, refer to the online course CMS 100 - Report Builder: Canned Query.

  1. Launch Tool #100 CU*BASE Report Builder (Query).

  2. From the Option drop-down menu, select 1 = Create.

  3. Enter a name for your report and select a location for your report to be stored in.

  4. Use Enter.

  5. Select File(s).

    • To search for specific files, use Tool #332 Database Search Assistant.

  6. Select Fields.

    • To search for specific fields, use Tool #332 Database Search Assistant.

  7. Select Records.

  8. Select Choose Output (Print, display, or file) to choose where and how to save this report.

  9. Save and run your query.
