Order New ATM/Debit Card

These steps explain how to order a brand new card for the primary account holder.

  1. Launch Tool #11 ATM/Debit Card Maintenance.

  2. On the ATM/Debit Account/Card Lookup pop-up, enter the member’s account number.

  3. Click the forward arrow.

  4. On the ATM/Debit/Credit BIN Configuration screen, select the appropriate card BIN from the list.

  5. Click Select.

  6. On the Card/PIN Order screen, confirm that all information is correct (member name, Social Security number, phone, etc.).

    • If you're ordering an ATM/debit card without the name of the primary account holder (i. e. spouse or child), enter the new embossing information (spouse, child, etc.) on Line 1. Also change the phone number and Social Security number as appropriate.

    • If you are entering a company name, fill in the First name field completely, then the Middle initial field, and finally the Last name field. If the company name only fills the First name field, CU*BASE will produce an emboss record order, but it will not be processed correctly by the vendor. In these instances, only check the Send maintenance check box. Then order the card directly from your vendor.

    • Line 2 is reserved for use with platforms that will accept a two-line card embossing. Not all vendors support this through online processing. Contact your vendor to see if Line 2 embossing is supported.

  7. If you're ordering a card with a specific number, prior to attaching the funding accounts in the next step, click Unlock Card # and enter the desired card number in the Card # field.

  8. Click Accounts to add funding accounts for the card.

  9. On the Attached Accounts screen, enter a funding account.

    • This is the primary account that the ATM or debit card will use when performing signature-based and non-pinned POS transactions. The funding account entered in this field must also be listed in the appropriate section below.

    • It is recommended that the funding account for a debit card be a checking account to avoid transaction denials. Check with your vendor to determine whether a savings account can be used.

    • If more than one funding account is allowed, which depends on the vendor configuration, enter any additional accounts (different suffixes for the relationship account or accounts from different memberships entirely) that the cards are allowed to access when performing transactions.

  10. Click the forward arrow to view the names of the account holders.

  11. Click the forward arrow again to confirm and return to the Card/PIN Order screen.

  12. Click Add/Update to order the card.
