Update Selective Statement Insert Instructions
These steps explain how to update your selective insert instructions with a new file using Member Connect.

Launch Tool #497 Member Connect Marketing Tools.

Enter the name of the QUERYxx file containing the list of members to receive the selective statement insert.

The file must contain the ACCTBS (account base) as the first field in the file. For instructions on creating the database file, refer to the Marketing Campaigns with Member Connect booklet.

Select Statement inserts.

Use Enter.

Enter the number for the selective insert in the Statement file ID field.

This copies the file from your QUERYxx library to the FILExx library, saving the file name as STMT## (where ## is the number you input for the statement file ID).

Remember: you may request up to 5 total statement inserts per statement run.

Use statement file ID 06 for selective statement onserts only. Only 1 onsert is permitted.

Use Process to proceed to the Statement Messages/Inserting screen.

Choose the Statement format ID.

Review and continue past the Statement Message Maintenance screen.

On the Statement Insert/Mailing Instructions screen:

These instructions must be completed no later than the end of business day on the 10th of every month. If the 10th falls on a weekend or holiday, the screen must be updated by the end the next business day. Refer to the Statement Printing and Mailing Instructions booklet for more information.

In the appropriate line item, enter a Description of Insert.

You may choose whether to wait to send statements until the insert is available or proceed without.

You may specify action to take regarding leftover pieces.

Note: Select Hold at printer ONLY IF prior arrangements have been made with the statement processor to warehouse these inserts.

In the All or Selective dropdown, choose Selective.

Use Enter to save the statement insert/mailing instructions.
After the campaign has been run, you may want to remove the statement file from the Statement Insert/Mailing Instructions screen, so the inserts do not print for every statement cycle. Follow the steps below:

From this screen, select Selective Insert Files.

Select the STMT## file and choose Delete.

Use Enter to confirm.
