Work Delinquent Account

These steps explain how to work a delinquent account.

  1. Launch Tool #982 Work Collections.

  2. On the Collections Member Selection screen, select the type of accounts you want to work.

    • Types of accounts to work include delinquent loans, negative-balance accounts, overline accounts, and/or written-off loans. 

  3. Click the forward arrow.

  4. On the Collections Member Inquiry screen, select the account you want to work.

  5. Click Work Member.

  6. Select the member’s Collections Tracker from the list on the Member Tracker Review screen.  

  7. Click Update.

  8. Enter a memo type in the Memo type field on the Member Tracker Entry screen.

  9. Record your communication or activity with the member in the space provided.  

    • Before writing your comments, list the sub-account first. All sub-accounts for the membership use the same Collections Tracker.

    • Once saved, this text cannot be changed. Be sure to proof your work.

    • To find out personal details about the member, click Phone Inquiry.

  10. Click Save/Continue.

  11. On the third and final Member Tracker Entry screen, leave the Update last contact date for this account box checked.

  12. Leave the Entry just made requires a follow-up box checked if the Tracker requires a follow-up.

    • A follow-up is required only when there is a date-driven action, such as a “Promise to Pay” or court date associated with the task.

    • If the conversation requires a follow-up, enter a follow-up date and, if needed, the name of the staff member to whom the follow-up is assigned.

  13. Click the forward arrow.
