Dashboard Tips – Questions to Ask When Comparing a Dashboard with Another Dashboard or Report
This screen compares balance changes for the ten previous months (as data is available) from the month selected on the entry screen based on the filters selected on the entry screen and those made on this screen. You may find that some months do not have data, and this may mean that the account was closed during that month. Scroll down the screen to view data in all columns. Scroll down the screen to view data in all columns.
Using this Screen
Enter a balance amount in the "Show warning signs on balance changes" or a percent in the "% amount" field and use Enter to view accounts that had that amount or percentage change in adjacent months. (You can select to show movement in balances changes that are upward moving, downward or both.) Then use the "Show Warning Signs (F6) button to view only accounts that fit the balance or percent change parameters for that number of times entered in the "occurrences" field. (The times do not necessarily have to be adjacent to each other.
-
Example: 1 is entered in the "balance changes at least x thousand $" field and "down" is selected for "Show balance changes." Upon using Enter, all accounts that have decreased $1,000 from on month to the next are shown on the screen, including those that dropped $1,000 the month they closed. The number 3 is entered in the "occurrences" field (the default). Upon using the "Show Warning Signs" (F6) button, only accounts that have decreased $1,000 in adjacent months three times are shown on the screen, for example June to July, September to October, and October to November.
Use the other filters and buttons to filter the selections, export the data, or compare these selections to open memberships. Sort the columns ascending and descending by clicking on the header row.

Totals and Percentages at the Bottom of the Screen
Below is an explanation of the totals and percentages listed in the bottom section of the screen.
Totals
There are ten (10) totals at the bottom of the screen, one total for each end of month (EOM). The totals alternate in height to allow the dashboard to show more information on the screen.
-
These totals represent the total balances of accounts as of the end of each of their respective months.
-
Example: If you are using data through April 30, 2020, the total to the far left displays the EOM total balances of accounts for the month of June 2019, while the total to the far right displays the EOM total balances of accounts for the month of March 2020.
-
TIP: Go down each column's data for each month and total up the balances per month. They will match the totals displayed at the bottom of this screen in this Totals section.
Percentages
There are nice (9) percentage values at the bottom of the screen, one for each change in month. Each percentage represents the overall increase or decrease between each month's overall balance totals.
-
Example: If the first percentage is 9.0%, your balances decreased by 9.0% from the first month to the second month.
Buttons
The buttons filter the data, export the data, and compare the closed account analysis to open accounts.
