On the Loan Application - Select Co-Signers screen, you have three options for adding a cosigner to the loan.
-
You may select a cosigner from the member's household. To do this, click a name from the Primary Applicant's Household list and then click Select. With this option, you may select to view a credit report of this individual by clicking View Credit Report or move directly to the loan application by clicking Skip. After viewing the credit report, click Skip to advance to the loan application.
-
You may select a cosigner among existing credit union members. To do this, enter the member's account number in the field labeled Specify co-applicant account #. With this option, you may select to view a credit report of this individual by clicking View Credit Report or move directly to the loan application by clicking Skip. After viewing the credit report, click Skip to advance to the loan application.
-
You may select a non-member cosigner. To do this, enter the non-member's Social Security number in the SSN field. With this option, you'll need to enter basic information about the non-member.
-
-
If no cosigner is needed, click Save/Continue.
-
You'll then proceed to the initial Loan Application # [number]: Request & Personal screen. Click the forward arrow to move through the screens (with corresponding buttons at the bottom of the screen). Fill in the application data, including assets and debts, on the appropriate screens.
-
On the Loan Application # [number]: Miscellaneous screen, accessible by clicking the Misc/Comments button from any loan application screen, click the Application Comments button and enter any applicable comments. These comments will only stay with the application and will be deleted once the loan is created. Click the Save Changes button to save any application comments. Application comments can be selected to print on the CU*BASE loan application form. If your credit union has a custom loan application form, comments may appear on that form as well.
-
Use the Loan Application # [number]: Summary screen, accessible by clicking the Summary button from any loan application screen, to review the member’s net worth and debt ratios. You can access the member’s credit report by clicking View Credit Report.
-
